Tips on how to fix Galaxy Note 8 connection to WiFi problem (Troubleshooting Guide)




Wifi problems on Android devices are common and one of the most reported issue on the #GalaxyNote8 line is about wifi functionality totally failing to work. For this reason, we decide to write a short troubleshooting guide for you in case you'll encounter this problem in your own Note 8.
This guide covers whether your Note 8:

How to troubleshoot Galaxy Note 8 that won't connect to wifi
Being unable to connect to a wifi network can be caused by a number of factors so the steps below should assist you in determining what the problem really is. Just be sure to the things in the order we provide here so your troubleshooting will be logical.
Solution #1: Do a complete network device and phone powercycle
Before you embark on doing advanced device troubleshooting, make sure that you do the basics first. One of such basic things is by doing a powercycle, commonly known as restart. For this job though, you do not want to only restart your Note 8 but also the networking gadgets like modem and router (if you have two separate devices). If you only have a modem/router combo device, then make sure that you unplug it from its power outlet for at least 30 seconds. This will help clear its memory and refresh its system. After unplugging your router, make sure that you turn your Note 8 off as well. Then, once the 30 second threshold for each device has passed, turn the devices on sequentially: modem/router first, then your Note 8. Be sure to let the modem/ router initialize properly first before attempting to turn on your Note 8 to allow the router's system to come online before a device connects to it.
Solution #2: Verify wifi is working
This is not exactly a solution but a way to help you identify where the problem lies. If your Note 8 still fails to connect to wifi, or if it's connected to the router but internet is still not working, make sure to check if other wireless devices work fine. It's possible that there may be an internet or router issue so using another device to check is a must. If you don't have another phone to use, try to connect a laptop to your wifi and see if it connects to the internet fine. If it does, continue troubleshooting your Note 8. If it's otherwise, which means a second device won't be able to connect to the internet via your home wifi network, then that's a clear case of a router or internet-side problem. Hardware Zone Forum hit by security breach and profiles affected

Approximately 685,000 user profiles were affected when the HardwareZone (HWZ) Forum website was hit by a security breach, the site's owner SPH Magazines said in a news release on Tuesday (Feb 20).
