Telegram App Vanishes From Apple's App Store Because Of This

Telegram chat app and one of the biggest competitors to more pronounced WhatsApp messaging app was yesterday removed from the Apple’s App Store.

The app disappeared from the App store shortly after Telegram launched a rewritten test version of Telegram X for android, which was also available on the Apple store, and both the main Telegram app and the test Telegram X were taken down from Apple’s app store.

According to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov Both the main Telegram app and the Beta Telegram X app were removed simultaneously from Apple App store after Apple notified Telegram of  making inappropriate contents available to users of the app.


Apple has distinct guidelines about apps on the iOS with filters set to disallow inappropriate contents and even to report or block users in violation of those guidelines. Therefore for

Telegram to have vanished from the Apple’s app store is a clear indication of content violation, but it was quite unfortunate that the particular violation was not really made known.

At this point there is no timeframe set aside for the Telegram and Telegram X apps to make back their way to the app Apple’s app store but Durov believed that when they get back the appropriate protection in place, the apps should be restored on the Apple apps store.

Hardware Zone Forum hit by security breach and profiles affected

Approximately 685,000 user profiles were affected when the HardwareZone (HWZ) Forum website was hit by a security breach, the site's owner SPH Magazines said in a news release on Tuesday (Feb 20). A suspicious post on Sunday prompted an investigation to ascertain whether a security breach had occurred, the news release said. The probe showed that a senior moderator's account had been compromised by an unidentified hacker, and used to access the user profiles since September 2017. "The hacker used the compromised credentials to impersonate the senior moderator to retrieve user profile data which comprised name, email address and user ID, and possible optional data fields," said SPH Magazines.
